When is NASA Rocky Mountain starting it's racing program?
I've been asked this several times by people and we'd love to say right away, but the timing must be right to insure it's success. There are several factors and if you're interested in the gory details, contact me and we can discuss it (over dinner if you've got the time :) ).
The short answer is: We need to build a good following of people willing to dedicate themselves to the racing program. If it takes until next July then we'll be thrilled. If it takes until 2007 we'll still be thrilled. A quality racing program is paramount to our success and we won't settle for anything less.
What kind of classes will be racing? Can I bring my xxx and race?
We will support all of NASA's classes and there are many. Descriptions of all the classes can be found on the national web site: http://www.nasaproracing.com/proracing/index.html
There are all sorts of classes your car may fit into, let us know if you need help deciding.
The classes we think will do very well in the region and the NASA classes we plan to highly promote are:
Honda Challenge - http://www.hondachallenge.com/
Camaro/Mustang Challenge - http://www.camaromustangchallenge.com/
American Iron - http://americanironracing.com/
Factory Five Challenge - http://www.nasaproracing.com/proracing/cr.html
Spec Miata - http://www.specmiata.com
Spec 944 - http://www.944spec.com/
German Touring Series - http://www.gtschallenge.com/
Legends?? It's wildly popular in other areas with >30 car fields.
Of course if you think GTI Cup, Spec E30, Spec Neon, etc would do well and you are willing to help promote the class, we're all ears!!
I have an SCCA license - Do I need a NASA License?
You will be granted a NASA license based on the possesion of an SCCA Regional, National or Pro license. Novice log book holders or graduates of an accredited racing school will receive a NASA provisional license.
I have a racing license from XYZ santioning body - Will I qualify for a NASA license as well?
It depends on the sanctioning body. Contact the NASA-RM Regional Director or NASA's national office for more information.
