are the owners of the Mead track planning to do any remedial work on the track surface in areas (e.g. bottom of the chute) since it will be getting quite a bit of use for at least the next 1 1/2 years?
thanks,
bruce

I am supposed to be meeting face to face with the staff at Mead. This is just one of the items on my list to ask.

How is the current conditions at Mead? I haven't been there yet but am hoping to get some seat time soon.
I have heard there are some pretty wild elevation changes that could be detrimental to lower than stock vehicles. This doesn't concern me at this point as my suspension is still 100% factory stock but I do plan on coil-overs over the winter for this car.

I haven't heard of anyone bottoming out there. The track is a patchwork of repairs in some fast areas.

Here is what the track looked like in early August: video (http://turbols.net/videos/2005-08-07/Best%20Lap.wmv)
The surface went between asphalt, concrete, and some mystery texture that several of the other drivers referred to as "dog food". It was coming apart more as we drove on it. The "dragon slide" is where people were bottoming out... it's that downhill turn before the main straight. In it's current state, you don't need much suspension or tires to be competitive out there... I was running on half-dead street tires in that video.
It's still a fun little track, but it really badly needs to be repaved, and it could use a little more run-off room (and less things to crash into).
