How would the classing be effected by swapping a low-compression M3 engine with a non-OEM supercharger into a 1996 3-series 6-cylinder?

The base class of the 328i is TBE, the base class of a E36/M3 is TBD.

Would the 328i bumped up to TBD with 18 points for the s/c?

How would you account for a reprogrammed stock ECU? Would that be 4 pts.?

Not that I think I'd be eligible to participate this year at a NASA TT event, just curious.

You pretty much have it correct. The weights of the 328 and M3 are close enough to move the car to TTD after the swap. Then, you start adding points for the supercharger +18, reprogrammed ECU +4 (or +8,+11 depending on if there was a single "generic" reflash,or if there was fine tuning of individual timing points and fuel injector pulse width in increments of RPM, based on the cars actual dyno or street testing). The car would likely end up in TTB to TTA eventually after other mods, but could stay in TTC if there was some skimping on tires, suspension mods, aero mods. Hope we see you next year.
