c5 belt tensioner

Thanks To Don Walker for directions in trying to locate a replacement belt tensioner for the Yellow Corvette on Sunday.
Found that this is not a usual component to fail and now I am wondering if my fellow Chevy racers are running a stock unit or have ungraded to something meant for this abuse.
The c5 is new for me this year and Sunday was its maiden race. I have tried to address a "chirping" noise in the engine area to not avail. Power Steering pump had a slight drag feel so I replaced that and both idler pullye's. The "chirp" persisited. Of course when the tensioner broke all was quite but going extreme in steering effort and engine temps. I had also had the alternator bench tested and found no "chirp". that really only leaves the water pump and when checking on the engine w/o belt it seems fine. That is likely not a valide test any thought?

Wish I could help more Bruce but my only thought is maybe that tensioner had some defect or more wear on it than originally thought? It was a strange failure, especially in only two or three laps.
