Details on the NASA 2017 MAZDA Motorsports Contingency Program

NAPA VALLEY, CA (January 10, 2017) – The NationalAuto Sport Association (NASA) is pleased to announce the 2017 Mazda Motorsports ContingencyProgram for NASA competitors in 2017. This newly revised program willprovide fantastic cash awards to NASA racers competing in Rally Sport, 25 Hoursof Thunderhill, Regional Champions, Western Endurance Racing Championships(WERC) and at both NASA Championships events.

Mazda made many Adjustments for the2017 Season Based on Customer Feedback they collected.

In an effort to continuously improve, we surveyed and spoke with our customersto learn what adjustments we could make to provide more value to them as awhole. The overwhelming feedback was to pay deeper into the field and to betterreward those who beat more competitors.

Here is a highlight of some of theprogram improvements:

• For 2017, Mazda will often pay for fourth place finishesand sometimes as deep as fifth.

• To earn full contingency, our racers will have to beat fourcompetitors, among other requirements (e.g., Mazda 22” decals have replaced theMAZDASPEED 26” decals).

• Based on paying deeper (i.e. paying more competitors andmany more total submissions) along with other Mazda requirements, we need toreceive the contingency documents timely (within 45 days of the race).

With many adjustments to the contingency program, our racers will need toclosely read the document (first PDF link below). You’re encouraged to call ourcompetition parts department (800-435-2508) for any questions you have beforeyour season begins.

Spec Miata competitors are eligible for up to$3,350 in cash awards for regional championship and a $250 bonus if theycompeted in either NASA Championships. Mazda is awarding upto $6,600 in cash awards for the top 5 finishes in their respectivechampionship races. To sweeten the pot even further, MazdaMotorsports will offer Time Trial competitors at both Western and EasternChampionships a chance to win up to $1000 for the top 3!

The contingency program is available beginning immediatelyto all NASA competitors in these respective classes at each NASA event. Forcomplete information on the contingency program, please visit 2017 Mazda Contingency Awards Program
