Somebody take this thing from me. 1991 MR2
Rule #1 of owning a sports car in Denver: NEVER leave it parked on a high traffic street for more than a few days. You'd think I would have learned this after having my RX-7 stolen, but...nope.
I bought this over the summer as a project and never got around to doing anything with it. But I really need this car gone NOW, before the Denver PD has it towed. It was broken into. Ignition punched, hot wired. No clue if it runs or drives anymore, but I don't think the thieves drove it anywhere, because it's in the same spot I left it. Last I checked, it ran well, but had no 3rd or 5th gear due to transmission cable being busted. Interior still in good shape, exterior needs a lot of work. $500 cash takes it.
Pics before it was broken into. Will take some of the damage soon.

Hah! I can't imagine Scott buying this car, but you never know
At this price, it'd make a great LeMons / Chump Car candidate!
P.S. - It does have a clean title, and keys!

I would consider it for $500 if it was mechanically still operable and the body was complete. So, sorry, no. I have to draw the line somewhere.
If it was a '83-'86 Mercury Capri, '94-'95 Mustang, or a late '70s-up 500-750cc UJM/standard/naked/muscle bike, it would be a different story.
The "Mystery Machine" a.k.a. "Flying Toaster" was FREE! Running and driving is a bonus at that price point.
Scott

Ok, not to go too much farther off-topic, but the '80s Toyota vans were AWESOME! Back in the day I wanted to get one, lower it, install some BBKs and an air dam...
ok, back to the MR2. Good luck with the sale, Dillon!

Ok, so I never sold this thing. And now I have a bit of an emergency. I just realized that the thieves stole the temp tag that was on the windshield, so it's just been sitting on the street unlicensed. It's going to be impounded as an abandoned vehicle soon. I filed an insurance claim and it was totaled...they should be coming to pick it up by the beginning of next week, but I don't have that long right now. I basically have until tomorrow night.
I hate to ask this (seeing as how I've made like 3 similar threads in the past), but would anyone be willing to store it for a few days? I will pay you. No ignition means I can't start it, so it doesn't drive, but I can pay for the tow if needed. I just can't afford to pay the $150+ impound fee...

So you're looking for a place to put it temporarily so the city doesn't tow it and impound it while you are waiting for the insurance company to come retreive it because they totaled it and already paid you money? If they've already paid out, what are you worried about? If the city impounds it, isn't that the insurance companies problem?

I think Dave T. should take his trailer to Denver tomorrow, load up the car, and have the title tranferred to him.

I'll need you to push the car up and onto the trailer.
The ambulance that I was hoping to grab for free went to the tech school, I saw it today.
If you can get the car to Ians driveway I might be able to get it from him since he's pretty close to where I hang out when in Denver. Not sure if I have $500 to spend though.
