How to Apply for a NASA Comp License

Here are the steps to applying for a NASA Comp License. All of the details can be found in Sections 13 and 14 of the NASA CCR. The CCR can be downloaded from http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules.html.

No license with any sactioning body

If you have no past racing experience, you must go through the HPDE program and our competition licensing program. After completion you will be granted a provisional racing license.

Full National or Pro Competition license with another organization

If you have a current (or recently expired) National Racing License with the following groups: SCCA, PCA, BMWCCA, FIA or GrandAM do the following:

1. Create a profile and purchase a NASA membership.
2. Fill out the license application.
3. Fill out the medical disclosure.
4. Enclose a copy of your state driver's license, your existing comp license, a copy of an existing medical (i.e. from your other license) and send to the national office.

Rookie/Provisional License with another organization

If you have a current (or recently expired) provisional or rookie racing license or other group not listed above do the following:

1. Create a profile and purchase a NASA membership.
2. Fill out the provisional license application.
3. Fill out the medical disclosure.
4. Enclose a copy of your state driver's license, your existing comp license, a copy of an existing medical (i.e. from your other license) and send it to the NASA Rocky Mountain office.

Depending on your qualifications, I may issue a provisional license or I may forward it to the national office with the recommendation that they issue a full National comp license.

Endurance License with WRL, Chump, Lemons

1. Create a profile and purchase a NASA membership.
2. Fill out the provisional license application.
3. Fill out the medical disclosure.
4. Enclose a copy of your state driver's license, your existing endurance license and send it to the NASA Rocky Mountain office.

Depending on your qualifications, we will assign the appropriate license.
