Where It All Starts

Getting Started

Am I Elgible?

  • Do you have a current, state issued drivers license?
  • Are you over 18 years old? (16 if your parents let you)

If you answered yes, then you're eligible to come and drive with us!

What do I Need?

  • A car in safe running condition. Doesn't matter if it is a Subaru or Porsche, any car is welcome.
  • A helmet. Something with an M2005 or SA2005 or better rating.

Don't have a helmet? Don't worry, we've got rentals available.

First Steps

Now that you know you're able to particpate, what are the next steps?

Become a Member

  • First, you'll need to create an account. You'll do this on the NASA National web site.
  • There's no charge to create an account and with it you'll get access to the SpeedNews digital magazine.
  • Once, you've created your account, go to the membership page to select the type of membership you'd like. There are three options to choose from:
    • Family Membership
    • Spouse/Partner Membership
    • Single Membership
  • All memberships are good for a full year from the date of purchase.
  • Once you've purchased your membership, you can register for an event. If you don't purchase a membership before you register, a Single membership will automatically be added to your cart.

Register for an Event

  • Now that you have an account and membership, you'll need to register for an event. We normally have six local events each year.
  • Check out the current schedule, then click/tap on the "More Info" button to go to the registration page.
  • On the top of each registration page, you'll find a brief description as well as all the pricing. As you scroll down, you'll see the registration options.
  • The first items listed on the registration page are HPDE registrations. There are usually four options to select from:
    • Pre-pay for the full weekend
    • Sign up, but choose to pay at the track
    • Pre-pay for Saturday only
    • Pre-pay for Sunday only
  • Put a check box next the the appropriate item and select HPDE1. Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Register.
  • Continue through the registration process. When you get to the step asking for information about your car, it will ask you to select a car number. Car numbers are used to identify your car on track. Go ahead and choose any number you'd like. You're not tied to that number and will be able to change it.
  • Once you complete your registration, you'll receive an email with your purchase receipt.
